Aarhus cultural capital pavilion

Pavilion ‘Aarhus City Stage’ is designed as a part of city’s cultural axis and integral part of everyday life in Åpark. It is an iconic, memorable place in Aarhus Capital of Culture 2017. The pavilion embraces the existing pedestrian-bicycle path from both sides, creating two opposite slopes. It is constructed as a stepping amphitheatre, which represents gathering and collectiveness, and functions as a place for debate, meetings, outdoor Elm screening, exhibitions etc. The structure is formed as a durable, self-bearing form, that can be built from modules and re-used at a different place.
