Aarhus station area
Train tracks are always considered to be noisy, polluted wasteland of the cities. Urban plan named “Backyard specials” aims to redeEne this concept. It connects central old town urban structure with ex-industrial area, undergoing redevelopment. The train tracks become an attraction point, new type of industrial public space. The urban concept rePects urban typologies of the surroundings, integrates the territory into the green ring, creates new links to the south of Aarhus. Preservation and reuse of old existing brick buildings gives the territory industrial feeling and highlights new functions.
