Common house
The proposal for the New Concert Hall in Vilnius aims to go beyond the function of the concert venue and become a Destination in the city. Being positioned in one of the most prominent sites in Vilnius, the project consciously relates to its context: Taurus hill and Lutheran’s garden. It preserves and engages the existing green character: extends the hill inform for public amphitheater and reflects the southern park with a wooden column ‘forest’ inside. In this way it gains a recognizable and contextual silhouette, familiar to Vilnius cityscape, as well as turns back to Lithuanian culture, related to forests and nature.
